The key feature of the Proform 400 ZLE cross trainer is the incline ramp which has 3 settings which can be manually adjusted. At its lowest setting, the stride action is quite flat and this is ideal for exercising the calf muscules. At the highest incline level, the action is closer to a stepping machine, making it ideal for toning the buttocks.
The console features a backlit LCD display that provides all of the important exercise feedback such as time, distance covered, heart rate, estimated calorie consumption, speed (RPM) as well as a visual profile of programmes.
In addition to the 16 certified personal trainer designed programmes, the Proform 400 ZLE is compatible with iFit SD cards. Each iFit SD card (sold separately), features a goal orientated 8-week training programme and makes use of the built-in speakers on the 400 ZLE to provide verbal instruction on the programme being undertaken!
Heart rate may be measured and displayed on the console by either using the hand grip pulse sensors, or for more accurate readings, the 400 ZLE has a wireless heart rate receiver built-in (chest strap is an optional extra).
Another useful characteristic of the ProForm 400 ZLE is that it only requires batteries in the console and this avoids unsightly power cables being across the floor in a home environment. Transport wheels and a set of leg levellers ensure that the machine can easily be moved and that the 400 ZLE is stable on slightly uneven floors.
