As part of their ongoing mission to fuel the growth and expansion of the brand within the UK and internationally, fitness and sports equipment specialists www.Sweatband.com have today announced the recruitment of their first professional ambassador, ‘The Tennis Mentor’ - Ashley Neaves (www.thetennismentor.co.uk).

This partnership not only takes Sweatband.com back to its roots, having initially started out as a tennis-focused brand, but also highlights the business’ intent to work more closely with influencers that are experts in their chosen sport.

Ashley Neaves – a professional tennis coach, programme director and coach educator based in the UK – has had huge success as a content creator running ‘The Tennis Mentor’ YouTube channel and Instagram page, with a combined following of approximately 88,000.

    Ashley's Career History

While competing internationally in the British Tennis circuit and junior ITF events, Neaves started coaching to help fund his tournament travel expenses, before gradually moving into a full-time role. Throughout his career, he’s coached young juniors, adult beginners and even tried his hand at ‘High Performance' tennis, working with some of the country’s best players. During this time, he also won the UK Young Coach of the Year Award at the age of 21 and, more recently, the LTA UK Coach of the Year.

Since then, Neaves has set up a coaching programme in Hampshire, working with players of all ages and abilities and mentoring coaches through their coaching qualifications. Alongside this, during the pandemic, he set up ‘The Tennis Mentor’ YouTube channel and Instagram page to help players stay active during the various lockdowns. The success of his online content has opened up a number of exciting opportunities, one of which is working with Sweatband.com – where he’ll work closely with the brand to create a community through offering up his tennis expertise and advice as a professional ambassador.

Commenting on his partnership with Sweatband.com, Ashley Neaves says:

“I met with the team and was instantly impressed by their attitude towards helping the tennis community. Most companies looking to collaborate want me to post content around their products but Sweatband.com were different – their sole focus is on creating a community through offering education and advice, putting the person before the products. This is why I’m proud to be working with the brand!”

Maz Darvish, Chief Transformation Officer at www.Sweatband.com, also commented:

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be working with Ashley. His wealth of experience in tennis coaching, and as a content creator more recently, will enable him to successfully fulfill his role as our first professional ambassador – which is an important milestone in the growth story of Sweatband.com. Ashley and the team here all share a vision for the opportunities ahead for and, more importantly, this partnership takes us back to our roots, where we started off as a tennis-only brand, before venturing into racket sports and encompassing a wide range of sports and fitness categories.”
