Great! Easy and quick to adjust and whilst not a traditional dumbbell shape they’re easy to get used to. They also don’t need much storage space and they’re way cheaper than buying multiple sets of dumbbells.

Amazing dumbbells. They pose a real challenge for us as it upgraded our initial dumbbells. The grip is very comfortable and padded so you don't get calloused fingers. It's very easy to use and manoeuvre and saves a lot of space due to its design.

Me and my sons have thoroughly enjoyed using the Powerblocks over lockdown and beyond. They're so easy to use, and the grips are comfortable and reassuring to use. They don't look like traditional dumbbells and I was initially skeptical about using them. But as soon as I picked them up, I was immediately impressed, and realised they didn't feel as weird as they initially looked. Changing weights couldn't be easier or simpler. I also bought the stand soon after, which just enhances the enjoyment of the experience even more. The delivery came sooner than expected and in good condition. Thank you for excellent quality and service Sweatband! Best regards, James.

They are very sturdy and sit well in my hands. The adjustment can be a awkward if the dumbells are sat on carpet but just give the bar a wiggle or rock the dumbells to the side and the bar will go in. The biggest setup is getting at the 5lb increment. Taking the bar out, take the main holder out, slide the restraining lever down and dropping the weights out. If you think you're going up in 5lb increments alot, then I might look for a different model, but if you mainly want 10lb increments, they are great.

Wanted these for years and have to say I love them. Tried loads of other similar products but always worried about the mechanism. These are simple but work so well. Feel solid and well balanced for me. They have limitations but so do all of these. I won’t lie they are cool too.

These dumb bells have been a revelation for my home work-outs. They look strange compared to most other options, but take less space and change more quickly. I also use combinations of the 10 lbs blocks for non-dumb bell exercises where I grab them with two hands e.g. swings, pullovers and behind head presses.
Only small gripe is the way the increments work when using lower weights. Not being able to do 12.5 lbs and 22.5 lbs has got in the way a couple of times when trying to increase the load.
Overall, great set of DBs. Would recommend.

I wanted a selection of dumbells without having to buy many individual ones, so I went for this option.
PROS: Very solid build, reliable, easy to switch between weights (takes about 5 seconds to switch the big plates, a bit longer to take out (or insert) the smaller 1kg weights). The handle is very comfortable even when lifting the heaviest weight.
CONS: Good for weight training but not ideal for HIIT where rapid movements causes a lot of plate movement. There is no option to get the bar for converting to barbell (there is on the other model).
Conclusion: Would I buy again? Yes. At some point, I may buy the next plate as I build up the weight. I'm sure these will last me years.

Really high quality and easy to use. They can take a good few knocks and drops that you get with normal use. Expandable element is great too so you can add weight as you want.
Only slight drawback is that the balance isn't quite as good as regular dumbbells but from what I understand - they are much better than most other select-able weight versions like this.

they work well, especially with the stand which can be bought here at sweatband.
I only have some small criticisms and that is they mark quite easily, photo attached. It doesn't affect performance and hopefully they aren't deep enough to rust. The stickers on the top also look like they could lift over time, would have preferred if they had been coated to the plates rather than just glued. So not perfect but close enough

Now that I've had the Sport 90 set for about a week, I can confidently say I'm extremely happy I went with these ones. If you know for sure you'll never want/need to go beyond 50lbs, go for the Sport 50 - if you're like I was and not sure either way, get this one. It isn't that much more money and at least you've got the option to go heavier. Will definitely be buying Stage 2 and 3 eventually.

These dumbbells have been essential during lockdowns, as I don’t have the massive amount of space at home required for individual dumbbells.
Not cheap, but comparable in price to others and the expansion packs help to keep costs down for those not needing the extra resistance.

I'd been deliberating about buying a set of these for years. I just wish I'd purchased them sooner! I also purchased the stage 2 & 3 expansion kits, and having 180lbs/82kg in such a small and compact block is ideal for my current living environment. They fit nicely under the bed :-) Before, I had around 60-70kg of various plates, bars, spinlocks etc. that took up so much space. So I sold them all to help contribute towards the purchase of the PowerBlocks.
They aren't cheap; but they are a solid and worthwhile investment. I was a little hesitant because I thought they looked clunky and 'un-dumbbell' like, so may find it awkward to use. But upon arrival I was surprised by how compact they were - even with the 2 & 3 expansion sets added. They were no bigger than standard dumbbells with regards to length, which was my main worry. You dont want them clanking together or restricting full range of motion when doing chest presses or shoulder presses for example. These are no problem whatsoever. Have you ever seen a 40kg hex dummbell? These are more compact than those.
Changing weights is super quick, although you need to be a little be careful with the pin selector to ensure it goes into the right slots/level i.e. inserts/exits on the same level. Which can happen if you decide to lifts weights when drunk ;-)
I was also a bit concerned that they may be super noisy, due to moving parts or the adder weights within. But they are no louder than general spinlock dumbbells with iron plates. The adder weights can move a little bit if you are swinging them around doing snatches, cleans etc. But's they have little rubber cushions on the end which reduces the noise which is good.
They are really well balanced too. When you see videos or pictures, you can't envisage using them the same way you would standard dumbbells - they look odd. But literally on my first session using these I forgot. Your muscles don't care what they are lifting - they just need resistance. Whether that be bands, dumbbells or PowerBlocks.
I'd highly recommend these to anyone. Especially if you workout at home and don't want a rack of dumbbells taking up an entire room. The only gripe I have is at some stages (not all) the jump from one weight to the next is minium 3kg e.g. 13kg > 18kg (take out x2 adder weights reduces it to x16kg) but, this is probably because I had loads of 0.5kg and 1.25kg weight plates before so could progressively increase weights in very small increments. But this is probably my only negative thought on these.
Of all the brands out there that make adjustable dumbbells, am glad I chose these. They've been around for yonks, everyone recommends them, and now I understand why. Very happy with my purchase so far.

I am a very strong advocate of home workouts. It takes away the pain of commute to the gym, saves me the effort I spend in trying to look upbeat as I do backbreaking exercises, ensures that there is no time wastage between exercises... I could go on. Being an introvert features somewhere on that list. Having done P90X3, Insanity, T25... I also know these are more intense workouts than anything I had done in gyms in my 20s. One thing they do require, is a bit of space. Now, space - that comes at a premium in urban dwelling. And you can ill afford to spend it on dumbbell racks.
Thankfully, we live in a time where, if there's a problem, someone's thought of a solution. We have all kinds of collapsible furniture that squeezes up against a wall. Adjustable dumbbells were obviously going to be invented. There are more than one kinds. After endlessly reviewing them, I finally went for Powerblocks.
Now I was surprised to realize that these aren't quite as easily available as I thought they would be. Powerblocks are expensive, and I would really have preferred to try out the options in a store before buying them. No such luck. Also, the pro-adjustable-versions weren't available at all.
It was a toss up between pro-50 (which couldn't be expanded further) and the Sport 90 expandable version. I went for the later primarily because they could be expanded beyond the base 50-lbs per dumbbell I got, upto 90 lbs. They were also a 100 quid cheaper. That's a lot! One concern I had was some reviewers had complained about the knuckles grinding against the adder-weight bars that are there on the bottom, and the reviewer had claimed that didn't happen on the pro versions. Well, on that, I think the problem might be the position in which you hold the powerblock. Now I am used to holding dumbbells with my knuckles pointing slightly down - in which case the knuckles do grind against the adder weight. But that was quickly remedied by having the knuckles pointed towards the outside, instead of down. No issues then. But it requires a bit breaking into, for your grip to adjust, if the way you generally grabbed at normal dumbbells before doesn't quite work. My wife, didn't have any issues from get go.
Another thing to note is that the PowerBlocks aren't as "natural" as dumbbells are. Especially when you are using them at 10 lbs, the adder weights add their own moment, which feels a little weird. You don't quite notice that at 20 lbs, and probably not at all at 30 lbs. In general, the handling improves exponentially as you increase the weights. In any case, it's a very small inconvenience to the alternative of not having dummbells at all for home workouts. In some ways, it could be remedied by the platespin dumbbells - but having to change plates in the middle of workouts takes far too long. Even Ironmasters, for T25, or P90x workouts.
On the speed of changing weights, if you are increasing in blocks of 10 lbs, it's lightning quick. Can be done in seconds. If you need to remove adder weights it is a little more time consuming. But way lesser than adding or removing 4 plates.
One thing that does not matter is the boxy-structure of Powerblocks - which I thought would bother me. After learning the grips that work for me for curls, hammers, overhead presses, rows, etc... I can do each exercise quite seamlessly. I don't need to keep adjusting my grip everytime I do the exercises. Several people complain of rattling of Powerblocks. Here it's actually the adder weight rods which rattle a bit inside their slots and not the dumbell plates themselves. They are really quite secure and there's no danger of the weights falling off.
All in all, I am very pleased at this purchase. Already, I am taking the advantage of greater range of weights, which I never did earlier with platespins that I had before. They sit nice and cozy in the corner on their stand. Fantastic dumbbells indeed!
